I'm not sure how tall he was, but if you look at the inner photos of the Derek & The Dominos Layla album, you'll see a photo of Duane standing next to Eric Clapton, who is about 5'10", and Duane appears 2-3 inches taller than Eric, so that would make him about 6' or 6'1", unless he was standing on a slightly elevated floor! Greg Allman is 6'1", so I'm guessing Duane was around that height as well.

True. One of the Allman Brothers early band names was the Allman Joys. A friend of mine, Bob Keller played bass guitar in The Allman Joys. Maynard Portwood was the drummer. And of course, this was Duane and Greg's early band. Greg and Duane also had a band named Hour Glass. Later, Ralph Bollinger and Tommy Amato replaced Bob Keller and Maynard Portwood. Allman Joys released an album "Allman Joys Early Allman"I believe that it was recorded in 1966, but not released until 1973. Pictures of The Allman Joys can be found on the internet.
