Drift Away by Dobie Gray
No, Jennifer Grey is still alive as of my last update.
Dobie Gray. Someone answered Dobie Gray. There was an American singer called Dobie Gray who had hits with "The In Crowd" (1965) & "Drift Away" (1971), but you're asking about Dorian Gray who had a hit called "I've Got You On My Mind" c/w "Move On" on Parlophone R 5667 in March 1968 where he reached no. 37 in the U.K. chart only. Apart from some B.B.C. play it received plays galore on the Pirate Radio ships of that era. His real name was/is, Tony Ellingham & he came from Medway in Kent. He still lives there & still sings with a group called Unit Five (not to be confused with Unit 4 + 2 of "Concrete & Clay" fame). The song has just been released on a c.d. compilation B.B.C. Radio 2, Sounds Of The Sixties on the EMITV label VTDCD1038. I hope this helps.
