ARTHUR NOBILE, JR., a native of western Pennsylvania, was born in 1973. He is considered a post-modern musician, liturtgist, and "icon in the musical world of improvisation and harmonic design." Mr. Nobile has been published in both written periodicals as well as audio and visual materials. His musical creativity has been called "dazzling." Critics acclaim him a "virtuoso." After a decade-long affiliation with organist, Diane Bish, at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Arthur continued studies at the Paris Conservatory, Paris, France. Later he collaborated with Ted Alan Worth and Robert Hebble, colleagues of Virgil Fox. Arthur graduated with academic and collegiate honors from Seton Hill University in 1997 after completing a comprehensive, self-designed major, in the visual and performing arts, theology, philosophy, philanthropy, the classics, and women studies. He is recognized by Seton Hill University as a "Cherished Alumnus." He has ministered throughout the world. In 2000 he was appointed the Director of the Office of Worship and Principal Organist for the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola, The Diocese of Palm Beach, Florida, a position he held until 2004. In 2005, he was the first American organist invited to Saigon, Vietnam to design and dedicate the organ for the Cathedral of Notre Name. During his time in the Far East he helped to establish an Office of Worship for the Archdiocese of Saigon, Vietnam. In 2006 he was designated an Ambassador of Music by the Cultural Councils of the City of Los Angeles and Orange County, California for his work in Vietnam. In the same year, he started ministry with the Southeasten Episcopal Diocese of Florida at All Saints Episcoapl Church. Presently, he is the Director of Pastoral Music for St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, Coral Springs, Florida.Mr. Nobile has collaborated with some of the most pivotal artistic, theological, and cultural figures, among them, the late Philip Johnson, with whom he created remarkable designs for various sacred spaces and a cathedral. Arthur has published 8 music CDs and 3 DVDs. He has been active in the production of multimedia documentaries, many of which can be seen on PBS throughout the US and Europe. Because of this, his affiliation with organist Diane Bish, and her TV show The Joy of Music, he enjoyed music-making opportunities in some of the world's most famous churches and cathedrals. He is highly regarded for contributions to the world of digital organ design and combination pipe and digital instruments. Dr. Fred Moleck, Editor of GIA Publications writes: "In the history of Western Music there are waves of creativity which fall within a tight time frame. However, there is one difference, Arthur does not consider himself an "organist." Rather, he feels that he is "a musician who happens to play the organ." The problem with trying to convey the gutsy reality of Arthur is that a written description lacks color, form, liveliness, action, and especially, the sounds of reality. Arthur is an 'action musician' who believes 'music is seen, heard, and felt, much as one would have seen the artist Jackson Pollock make his drips, along with the sounds he made, as if notes were falling onto the canvas.'"
