In my opnion, DIRECT BUY IS A CONSUMER FRAUD! Beware of this company. I suggest you complain to your Attoney Genral's Office of Consumer Fraud. Also, I suggest that you read a WCVB invetstiagtion, Boston Channel 5 report. THis company needs to be investiagted ASAP! Cecilia That's all well and fine but you did not answer the question. I want to know can you get out of a DirectBuy contract. There was supposed to be some kind of a law where you can get out of a contract if you do it in the first 3 days. What can you tell me about this?
Before leaving Fox29 about six months ago, in fall 2008, Dorothy Krysiuk's responsibilities began at 5 a.m., with the Good Day Philadelphia program. Management wanted her to pick up the 5 p.m. shift. Traffic reporters John Ogden and Bob Kelly already were working morning and evening shifts, at NBC10 and CBS3, respectively. No explanations were forthcoming about management's reasons for, or Krysiuk's disinterest in, the longer working day. Krysiuk graduated from Temple University. Her work experience included employment at Channel 10, before accepting her job at Fox29, in 2001. It has been suggested that Krysiuk wants a temporary break from work, and doesn't plan on rushing into employment with another outlet. As of June 2010, Dorothy is on the air on Channel 5 WCVB in Boston, doing the morning traffic. She is employed by the company Westwood 1, that produces traffic reports for the station.
It was a hot July day nearly 25 years ago when Diana Bryant, who was only 19 years old, stood on the rusty fire escape of her burning Back Bay apartment, clinging to a Boston firefighter and trying to shield her godchild from the flames. They were only seconds from safety when the fire escape collapsed, plunging Bryant five stories to her death. The little girl, 2-year-old Tiare Jones, whose fall may have been cushioned by Bryant's body, escaped without serious injury. (Stanley) Forman is now a WCVB-TV photographer, and he asks: How is Tiare? "I always wondered how she made out." Forman, who would go on to win another Pulitzer the year after photographing the accident, hasn't seen her since a few days after the 1975 fire, when she returned home from the hospital and he brought her a teddy bear. In recent months, though, Tiare (pronounced Tee-are-rah) Jones has begun to remake a life that nearly shattered almost a quarter century ago. And this time, she says, she is determined to succeed. As a condition of regaining custody of three of her children that were taken by the Department of Social Services, she is living in the halfway house in suburban Boston. She already has custody of her oldest daughter, Antoinette, 9, who has been living with her since February. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner.
