While the movie may have been fiction, there are new and exciting electronic devices called "memristors" These may one day replace transistors and many believe they will advance Artificial Intelligence significantly. It's conceivable that the name "memristor" could be shortened to "memzy" or "mimzy" as a nickname. I personally believe the writers intended this since this emerging technology has been talked about for some time before it was actually made real.
