Lawrence Harvey "Larry" King (born November 19, 1933) is an American television and radio host.

He is recognized in the United States as one of the premier broadcast interviewers. He has won an Emmy Award, two Peabody Awards, and ten Cable ACE Awards.

King began as a local Florida journalist and radio interviewer in the 1950s and 1960s. He became prominent as an all-night national radio broadcaster starting in 1978, and then, in 1985, began hosting the nightly interview TV program Larry King Live on CNN.

On June 29, 2010, it was announced that he would step down as host of the show but would continue to host specials for CNN.In early September, CNN confirmed that he would be replaced by Piers Morgan. King's last show aired on December 16, 2010.

Larry L. King, the playwright who wrote "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," passed away on December 21st, 2012.

Larry King, host of Larry King Live, is alive as of late 2014. He did NOT die.

However, Larry L. King, author and playwright, died December 20, 2012. The two are NOT related.

Larry King the talk show host tweeted, 'Thanks, But I'm Alive'.

After he left his popular (and highly-rated) interview program, "Larry King Live," which ran on CNN from June 1985 to December 2010, he got involved with internet broadcasting and with streaming services: since 2012, he has hosted a talk and interview program that airs on Hulu, and he has also hosted a politics-oriented program on ORA-TV, an on-demand digital network that he co-founded in 2012.

According to his publicist, Larry King died peacefully on January 23, 2021 at Cedar-Sinai Hospital. He was hospitalized 4 weeks prior with Covid 19.
