Jason Flemyng's character was left trapped at the end of the shows third series, and he was planning to return to his role of Danny Quinn when primeval returned in the new year for Series 4, however this did not happen, the show was cancelled by ITV and Jason left looking to appear in new dramas. but in 2011 a deal between Watch and ITV allowed two new Series to be created, and the cast moved to Dublin in Ireland to film the two new series. Jason however implied that he would'nt appear as the main cast leader, throughout Series 4, and that he was to leave Primeval for good after his final guest appearance in the fourth series's finale.
