I think so. I am not aware of any American woman who married a foreign royal to gain royal status- at the cost of American Citizenship. As Far as I know Grace Kelly was the only one that went this route. Diana Spencer did live in the US for a time long before becoming Princess Diana, but was never a US citizen.
