No, David Allan Coe wrote both of his Xrated albums as a drug induced joke. The only thing he wrote that was racist was meant as a joke. It was a song about a white guy who's wife ran off with a black guy. His drummer at the time was a black guy married to a white women! It was meant to be a joke.

Since YouTube people have gotten "Johnny Rebel" and David Allan Coe confused. "Johnny Rebel" is/was a racist. Most of the things that people think were written by David Allan Coe were not. However if you do some research you will be surprised just how many very popular songs were written by David Allan Coe.

He is not a racist-

Coe recorded two albums in 1978 and 1982 containing sex related lyrics of extreme vulgarity: Nothing Sacred and Underground Album. Also available is a best of the X-rated albums compilation entitled "18 X-Rated Hits." Coe has defended the songs (such as one deriding an adulterous wife who leaves her white husband and children for a black man as a "Nig*** F*****" in a song of that name) as bawdy fun which never made him much money - as well as pointing out that his drummer at the time, Kerry Brown (son of blues guitarist Gatemouth Brown) is black and married to a white woman. Napster added to the confusion regarding Coe's racist songs by mislabeling offensive works by other artists, especially Johnny Rebel, whose songs are often mistakenly attributed to Coe.[2][3]

Coe's second album, the psychedelic concept album Requiem for a Harlequin, contains many strong anti-racist and pro-civil rights statements. One track describes the birth of soul music in a celebratory style; others are furious rants against the KKK and what he calls "the asphalt jungle". Another track entitled "F*** Anita Bryant" rants against Anita Bryant for her opposition to homosexuality.

(This question was proof-read and corrected by a HUGE David Allan Coe fan!)

All of the "racist" country songs you hear like "N***** Hatin Me" and "Some N****** Never Die" were done by Johnny Rebel, who refuses to reveal his true identity. David Allan Coe did none of that material, and please do not believe anybody who tells you he did, because they're extremely mistakened!

The truth is time changes people.

David doesn't hate black people.

However he did spend 30 years in prison.

In fact the drummer on the track "N1663r Fuhker' was black.
