The 1950's American crooner Connie Francis was one of several established American pop performers whose career was severely curtailed by the British Invasion of the 1960's, but like several other performers from that era she was able to re-establish herself with a retro audience by the begining of the 1970's.
Francis' visibility took a second severe dent in late 1974 when she was raped while on tour. This left her with long-term psychiatric issues which prevented her from appearing for almost a decade.
But Francis has never entirely left the limelight; she performed successfully in San Francisco as recently as 2007, and has appeared intermittently since then.
As far as I know, Yes. She was involved in a number of sick scandals involving an alleged assault case, and later some buzz about smoking on planes when the anti-smoking lamps were lit=-to use the Navy term. She is from New Jersey her real first name was Costanza ( Constance).
Yes she is! She is 75 years old and is still performing.
