Stephenie Meyer never explained that but I think it was because they didnt have enough in common and she didnt like Forks because in the movie towards the end when Bella is trying to leave Charlie and he says I just got u back then she says ya and u know if I dont get out know Ill just be stuck here like mom or something like that
