well it shows that the boys have turned into complete savages and no longer care about civilization. therefore, they are struggling to survive (like Darwin's survival of the fittest) and are not worried about being saved anymore.

When piggy was a little lad, he was sadly made fun of. But coming into this new civilization, he is a new person ( hopefully). Piggy doesn't want to be known as piggy so he asks everyone's name BUT in return they do not ask for his. This proves that piggys style of life( of being looked over) is not yet finished. And he is in fact, the same person he has always been and the only thing that has changed, is his mentality.
Piggy wants to try and fit in. He no longer wants to be identified as Piggy, he wants the others to use his own name and so he asks for theirs until Ralph blurts out that his name is Piggy.
the pigs head represents the loss of innocence of the boys, basically them losing their civilized nature.
Ralph said that near the end of chapter 2: Fire on the mounatin when Piggy admitted that he didn't know the names of the littluns.
Piggy doesn't ask for the names of the choirboys in "Lord of the Flies" because he is more focused on the practical aspects of their situation, such as organizing themselves and building shelters. Additionally, Piggy may not see the significance of knowing their names in the context of their survival on the island. He values order and structure, so he prioritizes tasks that contribute to their overall well-being rather than personal introductions.
Piggy's glasses.
