"his name is just mumble he was never nicknamed"

I believe his actual name was Mumble - because he could not sing when he was born. In the group dance scene - right before Mumble is kicked out - his peers nickname name him Mum-Bo! I think just because it's a cooler name, and it's a sign of him finally being accepted amongst his peers.

Well, when you mumble, you talk really quietly and mutter, and people can't hear you properly, right? Well, because Mumble cannot sing, they gave him the name Mumble - because no-one hears him sing. :D

Who is Mumble in Happy Feet?

Mumble is the main character in the Computer Animated 2006 film Happy Feet. He is different from the other Emperor Penguins in his colony. Although all of the Emperor penguins have their own unique song to find love in Happy Feet, Mumble is a clear exception because he can't sing one single note. It all happened when he was in the egg and his father accidentally dropped the egg in the middle of the worst Antarctic winter. Then he hatched late. The reason why he was called Mumble is because Gloria named him that when he was hatching and talking in a gibberish tone. Then Gloria said "Come back here Mr. Mumble!" Mumble technically is a beautiful bird as he grew up. He has pretty icy blue eyes, and he still has his baby fluff that covers half of his body. He is an immature teenager and he is easy to spot in a crowd of penguins. Mumble is madly in love with Gloria his childhood sweetheart. He loves her song and tries to sing to it but always fails He is a very lovable penguin and cares for his colony but still has a hard time fitting in. It seems that there is no place for Mumble which is the sad part in the movie. His parents fear that he will never find love without a heart song. Mumble truly does have a special gift of his own but it is certainly not his singing. Mumble is a tap-dancer and he is prefect at it. Noah and the elderly penguins think Mumble has always been a bad egg and they hate him. When the food storage goes on empty the elders blame Mumble for the problem and exile him from his own colony. They also believe that happy feet can cause a famine When Mumble was a chick he was surrounded by six skuas on a ice cliff that were going to eat him but he saw a yellow band on the leader skua's leg and the skua told the story of how he was encountered by aliens (humans). Mumble is the true hero in this beloved movie. He found what happened to the fish that was stolen by the aliens, he journeyed where no other penguin could go and he saved the thousands of penguins that mistreated him. He also was encountered by aliens himself when he was stuck in Sea World Orlando Florida, for about a month and tried to warn the aliens before he was returned to his Antarctic home. Mumble desperately wanted to show is colony what he could do and at the end he got a chance. This movie teaches a huge lesson on how to protect the penguin's food storage because penguins need fish to survive. It also teaches you that being true to yourself you can make all the difference in the world. Although the penguins in Happy Feet celebrated at the end of the movie, real penguins have nothing to celebrate about. Half of the world's 17 species of penguins are almost extinct. That's why we need to save them from extinction. Mumble is voiced by E.G. Daily as a chick and Elijah Woods as a teenager.

What is the conflict of the movie Happy Feet?

This is the story of a little penguin named Mumble who has a terrible singing voice and later discovers he has no Heartsong. However, Mumble has an astute talent for something that none of the penguins had ever seen before: tap dancing. Though Mumble's mom, Norma Jean, thinks this little habit is cute, his dad, Memphis, says it "just ain't penguin." Besides, they both know that, without a Heartsong, Mumble may never find true love. As fate would have it, his one friend, Gloria, happens to be the best singer around. Mumble and Gloria have a connection from the moment they hatch, but she struggles with his strange "hippity- hoppity" ways. Mumble is just too different--especially for Noah the Elder, the stern leader of Emperor Land, who ultimately casts him out of the community. Away from home for the first time, Mumble meets a posse of decidedly un-Emperor-like penguins--the Adelie Amigos...
