Simon is different because he is the sane one. He is actually a representation of Jesus. He falls three times, then is killed brutally and unneccessarily. He is a peace-lover, and he goes off by himself and never once judges or kills or does anything he shouldn't. *Piggy's glasses cannot start fire. He is nearsighted, meaning he cannot see far away. Therefore, his glasses clarify, not magnify, and they cannot light fire!*

A
Lord of the Flies is in 3rd person limited point of view. For example, during the scene where Simon is talking to the pig head carcass, the "Lord of the Flies", you never see inside the head of Simon as he's having his seizure, such as when he lifts his head up. Nor could you see the emotion of different characters at different situations; you could only see dialogue.
Simon is different because he is the purest character on the island. As he represents a Christ figure. He also proves to be the smartest boy on the island (aside from Piggy) as he is the first and only boy to find and understand what The Beast and The Lord Of the Flies is. Although Ralph is a good character as well the 2 boys (ralph and simon) have 2 different personalities and different goodness within them. The difference between Jack and Simon, in simple, is Jack represnts the devil and voilence and Simon represents a pure Christ figure
