well actually, nick Jonas got discovered first, and him and his brothers (Kevin and joe, unfortunately, Frankie isint in the band yet, but he plays the drums) went to sing for clumbia records (i could have the name wrong, but i think that's it), and so they got signed on a contract, oh, and before that, nick Jonas sang on Broadway...so that possibly may have helped......

The youngest one Nick always wanted to be famous. When he was 5 he was waiting for his mom to finish getting her hair cut and got bored so he started singing. A lady that was there had a kid on Broadway and told Denise that she should get him on Broadway and referred him to Shirley Grant. They went and Nick was on Broadway and he recorded a song and it was heard and he got signed. He started a solo project and had a song he wanted to sing with Joe and Kevin and the people liked it so much they decided to sign all 3 of them as a band.
