Dick Grayson (Robin) was 4 years old when he parents were murdered. Then at the age 6 is when he started taking Acrobats. Age 7 is when he started taking Fighting Lessons from David Stone. Then at age 12 he met Bruce Wayne and a year later when Robin was 13, he found out that Bruce Wayne was Batman. At 14, Grayson made his superhero name up, Robin, and slowly became Batman's sidekick even though Batman didn't want one. Then Robin is 14 when he was fighting crimes. He was with Batman until he was 19. Then Robin was getting tired of Batman always bossing him around so he quit and turned himself into Nightwing. And he is supose to be 23 right now still fighting his Supervillain, Blockbuster.
Then came Jason Todd as Batman's new sidekick, Robin, at the age 15. His story is unknown but he was accused as being murdered by Joker. But soon later he was unmasked as Redhood, a villian and hero.
Next, out came Tim Drake. He was 16 years old and after he discovered Batman's true identity, Batman suggested him to be his new Sidekick. Batman suggested it because Drake was more skilled and more like Batman than the other two Robins.
Finally, Stephanie Brown replaced Drake as the new Robin at the age 16. Even though she was a girl Sidekick, she was still a great Hero until she died.
(Tim Drake reclaimed the position as the modern Batman)
Also, in The Dark Knight Returns, one of the greatest and most important Batman stories ever written, set in the distant future, Carrie Kelley becomes the last and final Robin at the age 19.

The Robin character first appeared in Detective Comics #38 (April 1940). This was the "Dick Grayson" version of Robin, who started off around 8 years old and would therefore now be in his 80s, if comic books didn't operate on Comic Book Time. (Since they DO, Dick is now in his mid-to-late 20s and operating under the name of Nightwing).
