However, Lauren Faust, the creator of the show, addressed the question of how old the ponies are (see the related link), and said that none of them have defined ages, but rather, have maturity levels. And, as ponies age at a different rate than humans, the Mane 6 could be just 3 or 4 years old and have the maturity level of someone older. Lauren Faust has suggested before on her deviantART page that they may be around 4-5 years old as horses mature around age 5, with the CMCs, of course, being younger, possibly 1-3 years old.
