Getting backstage passes to concerts is a lot easier than people think. I am really surprised that more people are not doing it. I have been attending concerts since I was fifteen and have gotten backstage to more than thirty-five concerts in the last 10 years.
I have met most of my favorite performers and have a collection of memories that will last me a lifetime. I have tons of pictures, music, t shirts and Autographs that I obtained throughout the years. My main suggestion is getting your foot in the door. There is actually a book that I saw at the library that had quite a bit on info about the subject. The book has a website address http://www.igotbackstagepasses.com/ where you can order it.
I have read a few books on the subject but this one was the most complete and did not have lame info that I have seen in other books. This book uses some of the exact same methods that I use. Once you get your foot in the door, you can easily get backstage. People think that you have to "trick" people into letting you backstage but that is not likely. I have learned that once you know someone on the inside, you are set for life. I now know someone at every venue in my city.
So my advice is to take it step by step and read some books on the subject. It is well worth your time and effort. While you are backstage, behave yourself and stay out of people's way and don't argue with anyone or you will get a one way ticket from where you came from and will never be invited back. I have seen this happen a few times. So go for it, there is nothing more exciting than getting close to these bigger than life stars.
You cannot purchase a backstage pass sadly. What you can do is, while at a concert try to get into the T-party, or if you're very lucky someone may give you a pass. I've seen this happen before, the girls in front of me were given backstage passes during the concert. its just a matter of luck, so good luck!
Backstage is just like how it is thought to be- exciting and overwhelming. but what most people don't realize is that you can actually be seen from the audience- no one ever looks hard enough though. Most of all though- it is a TIGHT SPACE. Crew members and managers are running around getting everything ready for the next peice of the show- and others are standing by watching for mistakes on stange. Marissa
Guest passes at concerts typically allow access to backstage. During this time, the person with the guest pass will meet the artists performing at the venue.
Usually, back-stage passes are not for sale. Unlike tickets (which are for sale), back-stage passes are generally given out to a select group of people, usually close friends and relatives of the band, reviewers for newspapers or magazines, and winners of radio station contests. Often it is the local concert promoter and the local radio station sponsoring the concert that make up the list of back-stage passes.
I can only speak from personal experiences. I bought the ultimate backstage book about a year ago and got myself backstage to four concerts within the last year. The last one I went to was for my little niece who wanted to meet Justin Beiber. The only problem is that you can only talk to him for only about 10-15 minutes. Here is her pic with JB It is so funny because most people pay $2000 for passes and I only had to spend $19.99 for the e book version that showed me how to get FREE backstage passes…lol. The website is at igotbackstagepasses if you want to give it a chance like I did!
