Extra's are guaranteed pay for 8 hours ($8 an hour for a days work total of $64) Even if you work 1 hour, you still get $64. If the shoot goes over 8 hours, you start getting into time and a half and eventually double time. NOW, these rates apply to people who aren't in an acting union. (SAG, AFTRA) If you are in the union, you make roughly double.
