There are 22 episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in each season. Since George Lucas has promised over 100 episodes, there is likely to be 5 seasons consisting of 110 episodes. If the ratings of the show are really good, he might make even more.
The movie Star Wars:The Clone Wars is Episode II of the entire Star Wars saga. There is only one installment of The Clone Wars, although there are 6 Star Wars Movies altogether. The first 3 movies were directed by George Lucas, these are the original Star Wars movies starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford. They were the first movies ever to introduce new cinematic technology never seen before, they changed the landscape of cinema and movies forever, and made way for new technology and the movies and special effects that seem all too familiar today. These three movies are George Lucas' most respectable and well-known works and are still accredited with a huge fanbase to this day. The special effects seen in these movies are what made movies like E.T, Star Trek, and even movies as recent as The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button possible. The special effects introduced in the Star Wars movies made depictions of space travel, monsters, aliens, and most other sci-fi work in the cinema come alive and look as real and coordinated as it does today. Before the Star Wars movies, no one had even tried to re-create such imaginative beings, storylines, and images as those in the original movies with such preciseness, fluidity, co-ordination, and perfected dramatic elements before (in other words, Godzilla wasn't exactly on the cutting-edge of cinematic proportions!). The first 3 movies, Star Wars Episode IV:A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V:The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI:Return Of The Jedi (most commonly known as The Original Trilogy) are considered the most technologically influential movies that audiences have ever been privy to. Furthermore, the fact that George Lucas started the saga at episode 4 and didn't explain the origins of the entire story left so much to the imagination that it added to the eternal complexity and wonder of the movies. I think that the entire thing was ruined the moment they decided to make the new movies; why, as humans do we feel the need to have everything explained to us? If those movies hadn't been made the mystical advantages of the originals would have remained untainted and as poignant and relevant as they were when they were first created. I hope that this has answered your question, (leave me a message on my message board if this has been useful to you!) and I encourage you to watch the originals, if you haven't already, I'm sure you'll find that those are much better. Happy watching!!
