Maxfield, not Maxwell, Parrish painted Ecstasy approx. 1929 and it was used as an advertizement for a Mazda Edison Calendar for the year 1930. Printed in 2 sizes; cropped, the sizes are (approx) 22 1/2" by 14 1/2" & 10 1/2" by 6 1/4". He was commissioned by EM to paint a painting a year, all to signify the effect light had on the human race. These were started in 1918 and his last was 1934 to which he then refrained from painting landscapes with women and did strictly landscapes until mid 60's. He died in 1966. He is noted for MANY advertizements , bookplates and calendars. It is said that in the mid 20's 1 in 4 households had a Maxfield Parrish print hanging in their home.
