Aaliyah had 3 albums all before the age of 22.

Her First album, "Age ain't Nothing but a number" Was released in the Summer of 1994 , When she was only 15 years old. The album went 2x Platinum.

Her Second album, "One in a Million" Was released in the Summer of 1996, Aaliyah was 17, still in high school. The album went 2x Platinum. Aaliyah had 2 Double Platinum albums to her credit all before graduating high school.

Aaliyah waited 5 years before she released her full length album, but she kept her self busy before her highly anticipated album was released. In 1997, she recorded the song "Journey to the past" for the movie Anastasia. The song was nominated for an Oscar, and Aaliyah performed the song at the 1998 Oscars, being the youngest female artist to perform at the event. Then, in 1998, She recorded "Are you that somebody" for the Dr. Doolittle soundtrack. The song was the highlight of her career, being her biggest hit. She also did " I don't Wanna" for the movie Next Friday, in 1999. In 2000, she recorded "Try again" for the movie Romeo Must Die". Aaliyah didn't only have 5 songs on the movie's soundtrack, she also made her acting debut in the movie. The song was nominated for a Grammy.

In the summer of 2000 and early 2001, Aaliyah was in Australia filming the movie, "Queen of the Damned". On set by day, she would be in a Sydney studio at night recording her next album. Aaliyah released her Third studio album July 17, 2001. She was hitting her strive as an artist in the summer of 2001, She had 3 albums and 2 movie's to her credit. On August 22, Aaliyah and her Entourage flew to the Bahamas to film a music video for her song "Rock The Boat". Filming was suppose to wrap up on the 26th, but they finished a day early. They were eager to get back so they booked an earlier flight instead of going the next night. On August 25th, Aaliyah and her crew boarded a small twin engine Cessna on a short flight back to Miami. With the plane being flown by an inexperienced pilot, and an overloaded plane, it rose 200 feet then veered left and plunged into the ground. Aaliyah and 7 passengers died instantly and the 9th died later at a hospital. Aaliyah proved that you can do anything you want, no matter the age. She has sold over 40 million albums to date.

It was also reported, that Canadian R&B singer, Keshia Chante would star in a movie about Aaliyah's life and death. Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Ginuwine, Fatima, and Hype Williams will be in the movie.
