Rick Astley did not write "Never Gonna Give You Up" it was written by Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman, known as Stock Aitken Waterman. Rick Astley 1st recorded it New Years Day 1987, (he was 20) & it was released in August 1987 (when he was 21) as the first single from his debut album. Also, 1st of 13 top 30 hits for Rick (born February 6,1966). Not too shabby!
