Two actresses won Oscars for "Network." Faye Dunaway won the 1976 Best Actress award for her performance as Diana Christensen, the driven head of programming for a television network.

Beatrice Straight received the Best Supporting Actress award for her work as Louise Schumacher, a woman wounded by her husband's infidelity. Straight was in the movie for a total of five minutes and 40 seconds, a record for the shortest appearance by a Best Supporting Actress winner.
