The Return of the King won eleven of these, The Fellowship of the Ring four and The Two Towers two. The trilogy was nominated for 30 Academy awards altogether over the three years of its release. At a rough estimate, the total number of assorted awards the trilogy has won stands at 219, including BAFTAs, the Toronto Film Festival, The Online Critics Award, the Empire Awards, and the Visual Society Effects Award. The Return of the King collected 96 awards in 2004, while The Two Towers received 57 in 2003, and The Fellowship of the Ring 66 in 2002.
