It lasted me around one year. I was disappointed with the battery life and didnt want to buy a whole new unit when all I needed was a new battery. I pulled the battery out (I got to use my husbands tools, just don't tell him I used my apron to hold the screwdriver) and found a web page that sells the battery www.swifferbattery.com They sent me a new battery and I was up and running in no time and with money as tight as it is I was happy to save some money and the environment
