The 4th installment of the Harry Potter series is "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". It was filmed in 14 different locations and took a little over a year to make. Production began in December of 2003 and filming was from March 2004 - May 2005.
J.K. Rowling began writing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 1990 and she completed it in 1995. Bloomsbury publishing published it in the UK on the 26th June 1997.

David Heyman, the producer, began searching for a children's book to adapt into a film in 1997 - the same year the first book was released in the UK. His staff suggested Harry Potter and he pitched the idea to Warner Brothers.
In 1998 J.K. Rowling sold the rights to the first four movies in the series. Christopher Columbus was picked to direct in 2000 and Steve Kloves was chosen to write the screenplay. Initially, Warner Brothers planned to release the film over the 4th July weekend in 2001, however due to time constraints this was pushed back to November 2001.
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were announced as Harry, Ron and Hermione in August 2000. Filming began in September 2000 and ended in April 2001, with some final work in July. The soundtrack was recorded in August 2001.
The premiere was held on the 4th November 2001, with the film being released on the 16th November 2001 in the UK and US.

Harry Potter was usually babysat by Arabella Figg on Dudley Dursley's birthday but that day she tripped over her cat and broke her foot so couldn't look after him. As the Dursley's had nobody else to look after Harry - they were forced to take him with them.
