Very many! And it's funny because as I read The Hunger Games in History we learned all about ancient Rome and in Acting we performed Julius Caesar by Shakespeare. So the games themselves are like the gladiators fighting in coliseums in Rome. The games were fights to the death and so were the entertainment from gladiators. In the third book there is a Roman saying. Then the names are similar but I won't go into them now.
Katniss is telling the story in first person
No, because the author said that The Hunger Games would be a trilogy (only three of them) but the good thing is that there will be three Hunger Games movies which follow the exact same storyline as the books.
The Hunger Games is a trilogy- there are three books. The Hunger GamesCatching FireMockingjayThere is also a Hunger Games movie, which was released on March 23, 2012. The next two books were both optioned for movies, and are tentatively scheduled to be released in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Some fans believe the epilogue of the third book left the door open for a fourth book. A fourth book has not been announced, but it is definitely possible, as it could continue the story of how everyone is coping with their new lives.
I believe that both are amazing, both have interesting meanings and storys.. but harry potter is more interesting,, i think that jk rowling took alot more in plotting an while you read all the books each one connects to the other ! i actually think that harry potter is better, and that its more of 'one of a kind' than hunger games , also Harry potter has been there since the 90's and its a life changing story.. my opinion : HARRY POTTER (:
Yes. It was actually inspired by a true story. The director stated that he did not base the character on one specific person, but the general story was inspired by a true story.
Because the way they fight in the Games is gladiator-style
The Greek Myth, Theseus and the Minotaur.
I am guessing that The Hunger Games stands for surviving your hunger? That would be my best guess
Every year in Panem, The Hunger Games occur. The story is of Katniss participating in the Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games isn't based on true story, however, it is based on a Greek mythology namely Theseus and the Minotaur. The mythology involves where Athens (the Districts) were forced to send 7 boys and 7 girls (the Tributes) to Crete (the Capitol) and then delivered to the custody of the Labyrinth (the Arena) where (instead to fight to the death) they will be eaten by the Minotaur (probably represented by the Mutts), anyway, Hunger Games is also based on Roman Gladiator fights where participants fight to the death for entertainment... in conclusion, The Hunger Games has both Greek and Roman influence.
