A white guy who grew up in the ghetto, with a mother who, in his own words 'did more drugs than he did', a father who left him before he even got the chance to meet him, and a little sister he tries to protect from the train wreck that is his mother. He was broke, bullied, and an endless load of s**t just kept coming his way, but do you think that stopped him? No. Despite the fact that he was CONSTANTLY put down, Marshall Mathers had a dream and he didn't let go. Not even when his girlfriend got pregnant and he was suddenly posed with the question 'how am i going to look after this child when i don't even have enough money to look after myself?'
But look at him now, this man has out-rapped some of the biggest rappers in the world. He is the biggest artist EVER to go platinum on the internet. Every show he releases sells out within minutes. He even has his own movie which is basically a biography of his life starting back in the days when he was living in the streets of Detroit. Just think, he started out rapping in underground clubs with crowds of people booing him off stage. He has recovered from alcohol and drug addiction whilst dealing with the death of his best friend, how many people could have the strength to do that? This man is an inspiration. But even though his story is a long and difficult one, he never stopped, and clearly his persistence payed off.
What he releases is the truth in musical form. He raps about his life, his feelings, but at the same time he raps about the world and how f#@!ed up it can be. Still today critics put him down for being so confronting in his lyrics but he ignores their negative words and does what he loves. He tells it how it is, and now he is known all around the world for his brutal honesty. But don't think he is always serious, Eminem has said in the past that if you listen to his music, you need to have a sense of humour. His sarcastic and witty remarks are what make his music so different from others. He never acts like someone he's not, even when people hate him for that. People should learn from him.
He is a lyrical genius. No one could ever compete with him, and if someone ever tried they would probably get killed. His talent is insane, it has been argued that he may even be the best rapper of all time, which is obviously a statement i agree with.
There is truly not a day that goes by that i don't thank god for the fact that I have the privledge of listening to this mans music. When I have a bad day, this is where to go. I can't even formulate an explanation using tangible words to describe the skill and pure brilliance of this amazing man.
Legend is an understatement. This man is a god.
Eminem is way more famous
He was discovered by Dr. Dre. He gives for his discovery credit to his album The Slim Shady LP.
