Peter Frampton uses a "Talk Box" to make his guitar "sing" The talk box consists of a long tube that (in Frampton's case) is run up his mike stand and down into a converter type box and then to an amplifier. He can use it with a guitar or without to make the cool effect in several songs he has recorded both in the studio and live.
