At the end of The Hunger Games themselves (near the end of the book), the rules change so that there can be only one victor. So, since Peeta and Katniss have to be "the two star-crossed lovers from District 12", they both deside to kill themselves instead of killing either one. As soon as they ALMOST ingest the explosive berries that killed Foxface, it is announced that there can be two victors. So they both live. Then, after they are sent back to the Capitol and are rich and famous, President Snow sees that "fake" suicide as a rebellion against him and the Capitol. Now, in the end/second book, Katniss has to prove to President Snow and the citizens of Panem that the almost-suicide was out of love, not rebellion. And since Peeta actually loves Katniss and she doesn't, it is complicated.
I think because in the series, the mockingjay is known as a sign of rebellion towards the Capitol, and the last book, which is Mockingjay, at the ending, there is a stop to the Capitol ruling. I think the last book is called Mockingjay because it shows the importance of the symbol in the book.
catching fire is 17 ar points and mockingjay is 15 i think :)
It is a mockingjay pin with the hunger games written on top you'll know what a mockingjay is when you start reading
She doesn't. As far as I've read she isn't in Mockingjay.
