Been trying to find it myself. There are several MP3 downloads available on the net called 'charlie rose theme.mp3' but they appear all to be the same and an edit hack job with timing, volume levels and fadeins/fadeout problems with severe clipping on the last couple of bars. Looks like someone glued segments together and called it Charlie Rose Theme Song. The Tune sounds as if is without a doubt by the Davin Weckel Band with David Lowe & Charlie Shapiro as supporting artists and dates somewhere about the mid to late 80s. It was recorded in studio by Maverick Records in Brooklin and written especially for the show theme on comission. Kinda like what Jan Hammer (Miami Vice), Dave Gruzin (On Golden Ponds etc), and Bob James (Angela's theme ... Taxi) do. I haven't been able to find anythin else about it, (title, confirmation of Weckel Band etc) other than that Warner is keeping the original under lock and key and is unavailable as media source beyond a ringtone that probably was a short low quality unauthorized TV RIP and isn't their time to get pissed off about.
