If it is what I am thinking nobody in his or her right mind would beat or assault a Handicapped Woman. (karen) was a fairly popular newstand paperback in the fifties and sixties. It dealt with the health problems of Karen Killallea ( not sure of the spelling) and their eventual partial resolution, this was not quite the Miracle cure that the liner notes implied. I never read the whole book, but glanced at it in the bookstalls. One got the impression that the writer)s) tried to keeo the readers in suspense- much like a detective novel, about the exact nature of the title character"s affliction, but was obviously not Blindness. One understands at least 24 doctors were consulted- by the Mother. This is clearly not at all on the same shelf with Dennis the Menace! Heavy stuff.
