Alvin the chipmunks the chipetts Dave and Ian get chipwrecked because Dave won't let Alvin go hang gliding so Alvin causes a bunch of chaos on the ship and the captain decides the the the only thing that Alvin the chipmunks and the chipetts can do is play shuffle board so Alvin waits for Dave to fall asleep and then trades a kid doughnuts for a kite and goes hang gliding on that long story short things get out of hand and Alvin the Chipmunks and the chipetts fly away Dave wakes up and sees them but fails to grab the kite so he grabs the hang glider and tries to follow them but Ian tries to stop him and then Ian and Dave crash in the water the chipmunks and the chipetts and Dave and Ian all get stranded the same island but Dave and Ian don't find the chipmunks and the chipetts until the end.
