Giorgio Armani (born July 11, 1934) is a famous Italian fashion designer, who loves to take risks and set trends. Originally he pursued a career in medicine, but gave it up to study Photography. After being called up for national service, he worked in a department store and then at a design house. Finally, he launched his freelance career with his partner, Sergio Galeotti. Together they established the Giorgio Armani S.p.A. label. Christopher Armani is the nephew of Giorgio Armani, who has adapted many of his uncle's creative designs. The Armani line has branched out to include a number of designer lines and labels. Some interesting facts: * Back in 1996, he was one of several fashion designers to be convicted of corruption. * He was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in 1996. * He owns a chain of worldwide cafes under the brand Emporio Armani Cafes.

Giorgio Armani started off working in a shop in Milan. He then went to work for Nino Cerruti where he designed menswear. With this job experience, he then opened up his own house in 1975. He produced many ready-to-wear lines that launched him to fame a few years later.
