There is some dispute about exactly how she died. A newspaper account stated she died of pneumonia and a friend backs up that account. That same friend did acknowledge that drug use could have been part of the cause. His daughter Francine died about six months after Frankie's stepdaughter Celia died after jumping or falling or being pushed off a fire escape.

Lloyd Taylor lived of Miller's Tavern Essex County VA, at least in the later years of his life. Frankie Beverly has familiy in Essex County VA. Lloyd stated that he had a sister who moved to north side of West Phila in the 1940's and that he visted her there often. Frinakie is reported to have been born in Phila in 1946. Lloyd stated publicly that he was Frankie's father and that when Frankie toured Richmond VA Frankie would provide him with tickets to venues and that Lloyd and his guests would join Frankie offstage and attend after-parties. Anyone that knew Lloyd knows that he had a very unique and distinctive gravely voice similar to Frankie. I understand that Lloyd did pass away in 2010 after a long illness. I do not know if Frankie attended any services. It stands to reason that Frankie could be Lloyd's child. However, when Frankie spoke to the press about his early years and his father he implied that this person was around in Phila as he grew up. Having said that I must say from my own experience that it is was not uncommon for parentage to be assumed for births occurring out of wedlock in the mid 20th century, particularly in cases of African American familys from south.
I remember a 45 rpm recording from the mid 1950's where Gene Krupa played "Golden Wedding" as a solo drum performance. It was a wild, explosive, flamboyant recital.

So far, Romancing the 60's.
Celia Valli, stepdaughter of Frankie Valli, either fell or was pushed from a window or fire escape to her death in early 1980. Allegedly, she was intoxicated at the time. She was in her mid to late 20's at the time. Most likely it was an accident, but there are feelings among some that it wasn't.
