At the age of 9, Emma Watson went to a Drama school called the Dragon School. There she was inspired and found a love for the performing arts (acting). Then at a school assembly she was chosen with other students to audition for the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies. After she auditioned several times for the role she got to meet Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe. Thn she was told that she was going to be playing the role of Hermione Granger.
Emma's drama teacher suggested she audition for the role when the casters went around the schools. She auditioned in her school gym and said it was just like a normal drama lesson. When Christopher Columbus and JK Rowling saw her audition tape, they knew she was perfect for the role.
Emma then had to audition a couple more times with young actors, so they could find the right Ron Weasley and Harry Potter.

Her brother said she reminded him of Ginny Weasley and encouraged her to go for the auditions. She said she stayed in character during the whole audtion and that is how she got the part.
The potter producers were holding auditions at her school. They took her picture and asked her to come to london for an audition. So she did and the rest is history
