TV makes you not focus on things that are important..like studying, taking care of your family, etc. it is a waste of time. Also people you watch tv are prone to Heart diseases, obesity, and cancer. A little bit o tv is ok..but more than an hour a day is too much
Again, the problem is when someone watches TV for long periods of time, many days at a time. With all of the programming out there to watch, people can become sedentary which, if they don't exercise will lead to weight gain that can lead to obesity, which can lead to Heart disease and possibly cancer.
There is also the fact that watching a TV show (like doing to a play, the Ballet, the opera and the movies) is passive for your mind. It's easier than reading, but it doesn't work the synapses the way reading, word games or puzzles do.
The trick is to make sure you exercise at least 30 minutes each day, read each day to keep your mind sharp, and limit your entertainment television viewing to a couple of hours a day, and you won't have to worry about television being bad for you - because it's not. Your choices make the difference.
