It depends on who you ask. The first uncrowned Queen was the daughter of Henry I (and the mother of Henry II) Her father did not have any sons when he died (his two sons died in a boating accident several years before his death) She was queen in all but name, but her cousin Stephen decided to take over as King.

The next one was Lady Jane Grey, but she only reigned for 9 days and was not crowned. The first Crowned Queen was Mary I (the daughter of Henry VIII)
