Yes. It is not a normal wig. It is called Hair fixing.

mohanlal started using it from the movie Raktha sakshikal sindabad. And without wig his last film acted was The Prince.

Inwich they shave their existing hair and paste a hair patch designed exclusively for their head shape to their scalp. This will last its sticking power for two weeks minimum. They can bath, sleep etc with this. After two weeks when it loose its gum, repeat the same procedure. this will exactly look natural and is very costly. this is avilable in any shape like if someone loose their hair partially one side, patches are available for that purticular area and the rest is original.

Now almost all acters are using these patches in movies even if they are having enough hair but just for stylish performance.

yes of course..theres not doubt at it...mohanlal has been wearing wig since very long time ...but mamooty only started in these recent years....may be 10 years...
