I called the architectural firm mentioned at the end of the movie in New York. They referred me to House Beautiful Magazine.
House Beautiful featured the original house in their November 1990 issue of HB.
The home was built in upstate New York by a couple wanting the look of the old rundown farm houses you so often see as we drive across the countryside.
I was able to buy the plan as it has a HB #.
Their were some differences to the original plan.
The movie house was two story with a loft fold back staircase, kitchen in the back and I think a basement. Oh, don't forget the glass walkway to the master suite.
The original was a story and a half, three bedroom (two upstairs). The living room ceiling was a barrel vaulted ceiling of Ash paneling that was beautiful.
The galley style kitchen was in the front of the house. There was a dining room and fireplace.
The stairs were not fold back style.
The master was angled off the main structure but was not all glass. Instead there was a checkerboard pattern of glass/plywood squares on the outside.
It also had a detached two car garage.
I bought the plan but no longer have it. you can have it modified if you want.
Good luck
