iv just found a write up on Buzznet which has been translated from an interview with Ville in Sonic Seducer from 2007 where Ville says the following:

Sonic: There's this one song about your friend who died.

Ville: Yes. Kiss of Dawn is about my buddy Thurston who killed himself. That's why I wrote a song about life is always going on even when it's absolutely unbearable.

Ville has also said before that his friend was in the music buissness but the only American bloke under that name in music i can find is Thurston Moore who is a guitarist in Sonic Youth and as far as i know he is very much still alive lol so i don't thnk he was that well know.

He didn't attempt suicide, as far as I know....

He attempted to jump off of a balcony, but was stopped by others. This was during a dark period of drinking and other issues he was facing in his personal life.
