well it's kind of confusing at times whether he likes her, but if you watch otter things happen he fight's Marlene's boyfriend who is Fred over her. And in the otter woman the penguins and King Julian fall in love with her after her fur is bleached but they didn't know it was her. Then in otter gone wild Marlene falls for king Julian when she goes wild, but at the end of it he cries because Marlene didn't remember falling in love with him,. He asked her something about courtship which I believe is getting married, but after she tells him she doesn't remember he runs off crying
