I would recommend watching season 2 episode 13, even though it is not a continuation of the last episode.It is the pretty little liars halloween special.It goes back to the halloween before Ali disappeared, and sort of shows how some of the issues in the other episodes start. The episode also shows the first A message ever sent, and kind of hints at and plays on who A is,but still leaves you guessing.
