If you're referring to the fact that saiyans all have vegetable-punned names, it's not necessarily Japanese. Nappa is a certain kind of cabbage.

Well, if you beat a main character in the end of the story mode, you get a Z item. For example, you beat Vegeta in Oozaru form, and you get power ball. You can use this power ball to unlock the Oozaru form of Vegeta, Nappa, Radditz, Bardock, Gohan and another guy whose name I forgot. You may also get Z items if you achieve perfects and one hit KOs etc. You jus gotta explore, man.
Vegeta, Goku, Raditz and Nappa (Not including the Saiyans in the DBZ movies)

Although Saiyans are never confirmed to have mothers in Dragon Ball Z, it is hinted at. In one episode Nappa mentions their 'parents', and female Saiyans have been shown on occasion. Also, the Saiyans' reproductive capabilities are pretty much identical to that of humans (as they are able to have children with humans), so Vegeta almost certainly has a mother, although she is never shown in the series.
All the full-blooded Saiyans that appear in the main series are: Goku, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz. The ones that appear in movies and flashbacks are: Goku, Vegeta, King Vegeta, Bardock, Broly, Paragus, Turles, and Tarble. There are also a few insignificant Saiyans in the movie "Bardock: The father of Goku."

Dragon Ball Z - 1989 Nappa--- The Invincible 1-18 was released on: USA: 15 February 1997
Repeat the Nappa stage to get all dragon balls. :D
Vegeta arrives on Earth in episode 15 so I reckon that's the first episode he appears in unless he is seen communicating with Raditz. i noticed that in the first ep of dbz radditz is talking about the saiyans and what they do and when he says this it shows a flash back kinda thing and in the scene there are 3 saiyans radditz, nappa and vegeta remember vegeta's hair used to be brown.
