This depends a great deal on the setting (like is this just a tent band or is this a stage band), how big the band is, how much their getting paid, etc. If a soundcheck is going to be done the band wil have to pay for sound technicians that will do a good job and stay throughout the performances, in case tweeking is needed. Most festival bands don't make enough to go the whole nine yards though, so everything is done pre-show with just enough guys to hook up the equipment and make sure everything works. Not much more. That's why Festival bands do not have a very balanced sound.
