They do not. In the books "A" tells Sean( Arias boyfriend at the time) that Aria and Mr Fitz are dating and Sean calls the police who arrest Mr. Fitz. But eventually Mr.Fitz is released from jail and the whole thing wasnt made public so no one knew except for the police. However Mr.Fitz looses his job. Eventually he moves away to NYC and him and Aria dont end up together. But many fans of the shows watch it for the Aria and Mr Fitz romance so they may keep him around
