Yes, two sons, James (Jimmy) (b. 1922) and Robert (Bobby) (b. 1924), by his first wife Natalie Talmadge. But the wealthy and snobbish family of their mother, whose sisters were major stars in the '20s, and whose mother looked down on Buster, dominated the boys' childhoods while Buster was working nearly non-stop, making his incomparable '20s masterpieces. She kept the boys at a distance from him after their divorce in 1932, (when she took nearly everything he owned from him, precipitating, along with his loss of creative control of his work, the long decline which it took decades for him to overcome).
