No one kills Peeta Melark in The Hunger Games. He gets severely injured, yes, but does NOT die in the Hunger Games, not in the whole trilogy actually.

What is the conflict of the first Hunger Games book?

The conflict is Katniss must compete in the Hunger Games, where she must survive being hunted down and she has to kill Peeta, who gave her bread when she starved.

What does 'a kind Peeta Mellark is far more dangerous to me than an unkind one' mean?

It means that when Peeta is being kind to Katniss, it's harder for her to hate him, and if she doesn't hate him, she can't kill him. She needs to kill him if she wants to win The Hunger Games.

What big suprise does katniss get at the end of chapter 11?

That Peeta has teamed up with the Careers and is helping them find her and kill her.

What seems odd about the Career's camp in the hunger games?

It was on the floor, so anyone could easily come up and kill them while they were sleeping.

How many trubites does Peeta kill?

Technically, only one. Peeta tells Caesar that he killed Brutus in the 75th Hunger Games. This was his only direct kill. Many people say that he killed Foxface too, but he didn't. Foxface died because she stole some poisonous berries from Peeta. Peeta hadn't fed them to her, he didn't even know that she had taken them until she died from eating them. And in the 74th Hunger Games, Peeta just pretends that he killed the girl who lit the fire next to Katniss's tree. This was a lie to build the Careers' trust, so he could protect Katniss from them. The only reason the cannon didn't fire when Cato killed her, was because the Gamemakers were signalling that Katniss was treed next to them. Peeta went back to 'finish her off' but didn't do anything since she was already dead.

What are heroic parts in the hunger games that Peeta and katniss do?

Well they almost ate the berry's in the end so that one of them doesn't have to kill the other.

Why is it so hard for katniss to trust Peeta's kindness?

In the Hunger Games, Katniss fears Peeta's kindness because she knew if he was nice, she would become attached to him and trust him, and that would make it impossible for her to kill him during the Games and she thought she would have to (thank God she didn't; I love Peeta!)

What happens at the end of Hunger?

Katniss and Peeta believe that both of them can win The Hunger Games. However, when just the two of them are left, The Gamemakers annouce that only one person can live. Who plays catness in the hunger games?

You would know so if you have seen the movie, or more importantly read the books. This will be quite hard to explain if you haven't read the books, but I'll try. In the 74th Hunger Games Katniss and Peeta both win, in the finale they kill Cato by throwing him to the mutts. Katniss and Peeta then go to eat nightlock, (a berry that can kill you in ten seconds) but Seneca Crane stops them, and they are both crowned victors instead of just one of them. IN the 75th Hunger Games, Plutarch rescues Beetee, Katniss and Finnick, where as President Snow gets Enobaria, Johanna and Peeta.

How does Peeta Mellark change in the nov?

Peeta does not change that much in the hunger games. He just goes basically into depression after katniss tells him she was actingfor the games. But in the third book *SPOILER ALERT* he is hijaced by the capitol, and thinks Katniss is trying to kill him, so he hates her. Hope this helped(:

Why does she try to kill her self with Peeta?

Katniss and Peeta knew that the Hunger Games could have only one victor, not two. But they didn't want to kill each other and so in order to defy the Capital, their notions with the poisonous berries were saying that they both had to be victors or there wouldn't be one. All or nothing
