The movie tries to get you to think everyone else kidnapped her besides Mr. Gib towards the middle, when your first thought of him kidnapping her is correct. He also said something in the very end when he was letting go of her hair, that even Abe Lincoln had two persons of his own.. the good one and the bad one... Even though he was the bad one.. he is perceived by the town as the hero because even Ally herself said that she wouldn't have been saved if it weren't for him.
